Operation Next Step was born from the personal journey of Jacques Davis. After serving five years in the U.S. Navy, Jacques realized that the road to civilian life was full of unanswered questions. He created this nonprofit to ensure no veteran has to navigate that complex path alone anymore.
The Mission
OUR STORY
Our story began when Navy veteran Jacques Davis finished his five-year service and entered the civilian world. Instead of a smooth transition, he found himself struggling to navigate the complexities of VA resources, housing, and finding work. Without a clear guide or support system, he spent his final months of service and his early veteran life figuring it all out by himself.
Jacques knew there had to be a better way for those who served. This inspired him to launch Operation Next Step, a dedicated nonprofit built to provide the exact guidance and direct resources he lacked during his own return to civilian life. We are here to bridge the gap for every transitioning service member, offering the clarity and community support they truly deserve.
Why We Exist
We started this organization because we know how isolating the transition from the military can feel. Jacques Davis experienced the silence and confusion firsthand, and he made it his mission to transform those challenges into a roadmap for others. We believe that after serving our country, the very next step you take should be toward a stable, successful, and well-supported future in your community.
